First I read this one from Bill Gates:
"The market does not drive scientists, thinkers, or governments to do the right things. Only by paying attention and making people care can we make as much progress as we need to."
Yup.
And a few minutes later read this one:
"The actions of (Peanut Corp. of America) indicate that the company lacks business integrity and business honesty, which seriously and directly hinders its ability to do business with the federal government," said David Shipman, Acting Administrator of USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service.
I don't understand how anyone could use the terms "business integrity" or "business honesty" without bursting into laughter or tears.

Toxic Toys
Worried about toys chock full of poisons?
Here's an idea: don't buy mass-market, Chinese toys.
Buy handmade toys.
They are often unique, made with quality materials, and a lot of heart.
The money goes to individuals, not corporations.
You can find lots of them at local fairs and markets.
And you can find a whole lot of them on Etsy.
The kids get safe, creative toys, and you get the satisfaction of supporting real people, not the hollow people in suits.
